The President of the NBEA

Rev. Dr. Walter Arthur McCray has served as the president of the National Black Evangelical Association (NBEA) since 1999. He is a Gospelizer, a holistic “Good News messenger” of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ (cf. Luke 4:18). Dr. McCray is a seasoned minister, writer/publisher, national speaker, entrepreneur, and native Chicagoan. In his over 50-years of ministry (since 1969), he has pastored and served several churches, and assisted a variety of community organizations. Dr. McCray has also authored many books, which include the best-selling The Black Presence in the Bible, and The Black Presence in the Bible and the Table of Nations.

Rev. Dr. Marvin Levy Prentis

Reverend Dr. Marvin Levy Prentis was the brainchild behind forming the Association. Brother Marvin was the first chairman of the board and the first president of NBEA. Brother Marvin was the first president of this great organization of reconciliation whose ministry is focused in the African-American community. Brother Prentis embodied the historical and ideological formation of NBEA. We shall always remember his name and his work for the Lord.
